About Rachel
Hey there! Welcome to Sing Well With Rachel!

I’m Rachel Maloy – a singing teacher, vocal coach, and big-time believer in the magic of music and well-being. With over 20 years of experience and a background in both Vocal Balance and Classical training, I help people of all ages and abilities find their voice – and have a great time doing it!

Whether you’re after one-to-one singing lessons (in-person or online), love the idea of singing in a group, or just want to boost your confidence through music, I’ve got something for you. As well as lessons from my home studio, I also lead a safe and supportive Singing Mamas group, a fun and friendly Glee Club Community Choir, teach at Abbot's Hill School and perform professionally myself – so there’s never a dull note around here!

At the heart of it all is my warm, flexible, and totally student-led approach. Whether you're a confident performer or just starting to find your voice, my goal is to make sure you feel relaxed, supported, and free to grow at your own pace – all from the cozy setting of my home studio in Leighton Buzzard.

The name Sing Well With Rachel says it all – it’s about singing better and feeling better. After my own journey through postnatal depression and mental health challenges, I have experienced first hand how singing can lift spirits, build resilience, and bring real joy. My sessions are a safe, welcoming space where we celebrate progress, embrace imperfections, and connect through the pure joy of making music.

So come sing with me – your voice is welcome here!

Booking a Lesson
I love working with people who....
... are pros who need a bit of vocal TLC for auditions, gigs, or just keeping those pipes in tip-top shape.

... sing for the joy of it - whether it's in the shower, the car, or just because it feels good to make some noise!

... want a confidence boost - in their voice AND in themselves.

... have always secretly dreamed of singing, but never felt "good enough" (psst...you totally are!).

... want a chill, judgement-free zone where voices can be explored with zero pressure.

... feel a bit shy or wobbly about singing, and need someone who gets it (hi, that's me!)

... care about technique, but also want the process to feel fun, relaxed, and totally human.

... believe singing feeds the soul - and want something that feels nourishing, not just another "lesson".

"As I sing for a living I really needed some tips on how to properly look after my voice [and] I have unlocked things I never knew were possible! Rachel is kind, knowledgeable, and so brilliant at what she does. I would recommend her without a second thought. Thank you Rachel, I can't wait to keep going on this amazing new road to a better, healthier voice."

"I have always struggled on and off with poor mental well-being. Rachel has helped me to gain confidence and believe in myself that I can sing. My mental well-being has improved greatly through the power of singing and I am a much happier person as a result. Thank you, Rachel!

My Groups

Singing Mamas
Singing Mamas is an international non-profit movement, set up in 2010 to improve women's wellbeing. As well as running local community groups, they also partner with the NHS to train health professionals and offer singing 'on prescription' to pregnant women and new mothers. All women are welcome!

My Story: When I became a mum in 2015, life turned upside down in ways I hadn’t expected when I was diagnosed with severe postnatal anxiety and depression. With the support of amazing professionals, kind family, and loving friends, I found my way back to myself, step by step.
One night, during a late-night scroll down the rabbit hole of Dr. Google (we’ve all been there!), I stumbled upon something that lit a spark: Singing Mamas. There weren’t any groups near me at the time, but I remember thinking, “This is exactly what I need.”
Fast forward to Summer 2022 – after the ups and downs of the pandemic, I had another mental health wobble. And wouldn’t you know it? Singing Mamas popped back into my mind like a quiet little nudge from the Universe. That very day, I signed up for their training, and by January 2023, I had started my very own group right here in Leighton Buzzard.
Starting that group was one of the most life-affirming decisions I’ve ever made. It’s become a space full of connection, joy, and healing – not just for others, but for me too.

Every Wednesday during term-time, we come together for evenings filled with music, laughter, learning, friendship—and yes, plenty of cake! It’s more than just a choir; it’s a community where everyone is welcome, whether you're a confident singer or just love to belt it out for fun.
We sing, we connect, we lift each other up—and we always leave a little lighter than we arrived.

Creative Play is a free, weekly music session lovingly designed for mums who might be feeling a little low, overwhelmed by the daily juggle, or simply not quite themselves. Run in partnership with Arts for Health MK, these sessions offer a gentle, welcoming space for those navigating anxiety, burnout, or the emotional weight that motherhood can bring. Whether you're feeling disconnected, struggling with guilt or self-doubt, or just craving a little spark of joy—you are not alone, and you are so welcome here.
